ESS President named to Crain's Detroit "Forty under Forty" Once again, welcome to the Crain's Detroit Business' 40 under 40. While none of this year's winners can claim to have leaped a tall building in a single bound, all are business superheroes in their own way. Many started successful companies or nonprofits with an idea and a store of energy and determination. Others have led family businesses to new levels of success or proved that entrepreneurial energy exists even in big, well-established corporations. What the winners have in common is the determination and force of will that has helped them build solid careers at a young age. Professional achievement is the most important qualification. More than 200 people were nominated. In making the selections, Crain's asked nominees to provide extensive information about their careers and community activities.
